Car Break-In Crew Driver Dead in Police Chase

In a grim turn of events, a police chase led to the death of a driver who was part of a car break-in crew near the Palace of Fine Arts, as stated by the San Francisco Police Officers Association.

The high-speed pursuit was initiated around 4 p.m. on Saturday by officers from Tenderloin Station. They had identified a vehicle connected to an armed robbery and multiple auto burglaries. The driver chose to flee, resulting in a chase that ended in a collision at San Bruno Avenue and Mansell Street, near the Paul Avenue offramp of U.S. Highway 101.

One person was declared dead at the scene, while another occupant of the vehicle was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The incident is currently under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
