There was a freak accident that happened at Chase Center just yesterday.
A San Francisco police spokesperson confirmed to KPIX 5 on Monday that around 8:55 p.m., police were alerted to a person in need of medical assistance. When officers arrived, they found a man who was suffering from injuries caused by a possible fall.
Police said there is no evidence of foul play. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner was called to the scene and that the investigation into the death is ongoing.
A witness told KPIX that the man fell into seats in Section 116 at the arena. The fall happened during the first set of the band’s two-set performance, according to reports.

This occurred during Destiny Unbound and continued through Reba. My wife and I were wondering around to get different views of the band because we arrived late and our seats were up against the wall at the very top. We were noticing the flashlights and commotion, and what appeared to be CPR being performed, across the arena from every section we visited. We saw what appeared to be someone being carried out of the section by medics and we then arrived at that section a minute later. We arrived just as they were rushing this individual to the elevator on a stretcher. Blood was everywhere, leaving a path from where they fell to the exit. Staff were frantically mopping and soaking up blood on the floor with napkins and mops, etc. We spoke to some people who witnessed it. This person hit their head on impact and broke one of the seats off. Witnesses suspected it was fatal- but many people in the immediate area had no idea it happened. If you look at the area were they landed, it’s hard to imagine this was an accident from anywhere above the second level. because above the second level the seating if recessed more at each level and one would literally have to make an effort to clear all sections below in order to land where they did. It’s also hard to imagine an injury this great from just one level up but who knows. We saw the police conducting interviews throughout the set break, mostly from the upper level. terrible thing to happen, witness and obviously affected the show for anyone who was aware of it.

Are the barriers too low at Chase Center? It could be easily seen when it’s all bright but too dark for a concert. What a tragedy.
